As a fellow music lover, one of my favorite activities is to listen and dance to live music. I consider this a form of self-care and a super fun way to get some exercise in. It helps me decompress and shake off life’s stresses, which are very important to our overall wellness. I tend to use DICE to navigate artists and events that I’m interested in. I also use it to purchase tickets as well. Although there are many venues to choose from, I have gone to Elsewhere and The Brooklyn Mirage several times and can say that I have always had a great time. Both are located just walking distance from the Jefferson Street train stop along the L line in Brooklyn, New York.
After several hours of singing and dancing, you can end up pretty hungry and there are almost never any snacks available at the venues, or they can be pricey. The positive side to this though, is that there are always plenty of food trucks parked around the neighborhood. The options almost seem limitless. The trucks present often vary from Mexican, to Halal, to Jamaican, to Soul food, to American fast food and plenty more that I probably have not had the pleasure of trying yet. Good food trucks can be difficult to come by, so I would recommend checking out some reviews online if possible, before making a final decision.
I have only tried a handful of the food trucks around this Brooklyn neighborhood and have enjoyed my meals every single time. It is ok to give yourself the pleasure of having food truck meals! At the end of the night, if you are hungry and thirsty, it is only right that you replenish yourself, especially in the form of enjoying your after-dancing meal. Don’t forget to get a good night’s sleep afterwards to allow your mind and body to recover!
