  • Take a Bite Out of Mighties Burgers On Delancey Street

    Want another burger?

Hey y’all, let me tell you how an L turned into a W. When initial plans got cancelled and all hope seemed lost, Mighties came through with everything. After complaining earlier in the day about how nothing really tastes good anymore especially with the limited options where we live, Mighties burgers said “we’ll see about that”. If you don’t know where to look you might miss it. Walking on Delancey Street, you first have to walk into the Essex Market. Once you’re inside, make your way down to ‘The Market Line’ that’s where Mighties burgers live.

A burger that's almost finished being eaten.
Yes that’s my phone on the counter

Fresh from the stove, I ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, their signature mightiest sauce and a side of fries. When I tell you I was shocked at how good it was. Our chef/server for the night should be secretly selling burgers on their own and bump up the price. Not to mention they were incredibly kind enough to charge my phone for me (I was dying on 5%). But back to the burgers. Maybe it was the hunger but I don’t think so. I had completely forgot my mission to take pictures everything I eat for the blog. By the time I remembered the burger was basically finished. Mighties definitely made it onto the list that night.

  • Sticky’s Finger Joint and their Extra Special Sauce

    Clucking for more chicken?

Located all over Brooklyn, it’s not hard to find the chicken chain. Sticky’s Finger Joint has proclaimed itself as “The Home Of The Best Damn Chicken Fingers!” Now I’m not gonna knock Sticky’s chicken. The chicken fingers ain’t bad, but that’s not why I like going. The real stars (for me at least) are the sauces. What’s a chicken finger without something to dunk it in? I for one want to try all their sauces. I’m a little embarrassed to say it but it’s like filling a Pokédex for me. On their current menu they have 13 different sauces to try ranging from classic to global. As of writing this, they have 2 limited time sauces; Jerk BBQ and Taco Supreme.

Now while I haven’t tried their extensive menu, because they do sell more than just chicken fingers, I feel like it’s my duty to tell you everything they sell. Starting with their sandwiches.

    • They have the classic served with sticky’s sauce, purple slaw and pickles.
    • A spicy chicken served with Sticky’s sauce, Nashville numb sauce, cumin and pickles.
    • The honey BBQ consists of the sassy BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, honey and of course pickles.

Next is their wraps, all of which have two chicken fingers within them (you just can’t get away from the chicken fingers).

    • The chicken caesar wrap is simple. Grilled and wrapped with coleslaw, and grated parmesan cheese
    • The chicken bacon crunch wrap has obviously chopped bacon, grilled greens, tomatoes, red onions, cheddar cheese and buttermilk baby ranch
    • Sticky chicken wrap consisting of buffalo balsamic maple, coleslaw, pickles, shredded carrots and cheddar cheese.

Side note: I think the buffalo balsamic maple is an acquired taste

There’s also the sides but I’m not gonna get into those.

  • Taiyaki: Eat The Most Amazing Ice Cream Out Of Fish-Cones

    Want more sweet treats?

If you’re ever in Chinatown you have to check out Taiyaki. This little shop delivers soft serve ice cream in a warm delicious fish shaped cone. My classic go-to is the unicorn. It is a vanilla ice cream covered in rainbow sprinkles finished with fondant unicorn horn and ears all within a red bean taiyaki cone. Of course if you hate fun you can get the ice cream in a regular cup without anything added. They also have flavors for the vegans such as mango ice cream, chocolate and strawberry syrups and coconut flakes topping.

Taiyaki shops aren’t just in Chinatown, you can find another out in Williamsburg.

    Green macha taiyaki ice cream.

Coming back to this post for a special spooky update. Taiyaki dropped a limited time flavor for the fall. Can you guess what it was? Pumpkin spice latte, obviously. They got the recipe down pact. Sometimes, certain treats don’t quite taste like what they claim to be but they’ve managed to get it right. The limited time cone is swirled with pastel orange ice cream. The sprinkles even got a makeover. Shaped liked pumpkins, bats and little ghosties. Speaking of ghosts, they even add cute fondant ghosts to really sell the spooky season.
